Even during these trying times, it seems that the Shih Tzu’s popularity remains just as strong as ever. According to Kennel Club information, the Shih Tzu comes in at No. 12 in the Top 20 most popular UK dog breeds.
Originally the Shih Tzu found favour with Chinese emperors back in its native homeland. The Shih Tzu was actually created by them by crossing the Tibetan Lhasa Apso with the Pekingese to create what the Tang Dynasty considered the perfect companion dog.
Shih Tzus are sociable, intelligent, friendly little dogs. And rather popular it seems!
